เอาจริง ๆ ช่วงนี้ผมเลิกยึดติดกับ model เดิมไปนานแล้วครับ ของพวกนี้ออกใหม่กันถี่มาก แล้วตัวใหม่ ๆ หลายตัวก็ทั้งเก่งขึ้นและถูกลง ถ้าเรานั่งยิงโค้ดทุกวันแบบผม การหา option ที่ประหยัด token ได้โดยที่งานไม่เสีย มันคุ้มกว่าการฝังตัวอยู่กับ model แพง ๆ ตัวเดิมเยอะ รอบนี้ตัวที่ผมหนีมาใช้คือ GLM 5.1 ของ Zhipu ครับ

ยาวไปไม่อ่าน สรุปก็คือ:

  • Claude Code ไม่ได้ผูกกับ model เดียว เราสลับ backend ได้
  • ผมเอา GLM 5.1 มาเสียบแทน งานโค้ดประจำวันเอาอยู่สบาย
  • setup ไม่ยาก ต่อ config นิดเดียวก็วิ่ง
  • ที่ชอบสุดคือถูกมาก จ่ายแบบ API ใช้เท่าไหร่จ่ายเท่านั้น

ที่หลายคนอาจจะยังไม่รู้คือ Claude Code มันไม่ได้ล็อกอยู่กับ model เดียวนะครับ ตัวเครื่องมือกับ workflow ทั้งหมดเหมือนเดิมทุกอย่าง แต่ backend ที่คิดงานข้างหลังเราสลับได้ ผมเลยลองตั้ง config ให้มันชี้ไปที่ GLM 5.1 เปิดขึ้นมาหน้าตาเหมือนเดิมเป๊ะ แต่คนทำงานจริง ๆ กลายเป็น GLM ซะงั้น setup ก็ไม่ได้ซับซ้อนอะไร แก้ config นิดเดียวก็จบ

ส่วนตัวผมที่ใช้แล้วชอบคือมันทำงานได้ดีจริง งานโค้ดประจำวันมันเอาอยู่ ตอบไว ทำตามคำสั่งได้ตรง ใช้ไปแทบไม่รู้สึกว่าต้องประนีประนอมคุณภาพเพื่อแลกกับความถูก แต่จุดที่ทำให้ผมหนีมาเต็มตัวคือเรื่อง cost ครับ ดูบิลแล้วเบากระเป๋ามาก ใช้ทั้งวันก็ยังสบาย ๆ พอเป็นแบบนี้ มันก็ตอกย้ำความเชื่อเดิมของผมว่าไม่ต้องไปยึดติดกับ model เดิม พอมีตัวใหม่ที่ถูกกว่าและทำงานได้ ก็สลับมาเลย ประหยัด token ไปได้เยอะ เผื่อใครสนใจอยากลองสาย GLM ใน Claude Code ลองเล่นดูได้เลยครับ ตั้งค่าไม่ยากอย่างที่คิด

Honestly, I gave up locking into one fixed model a long time ago. New ones drop constantly, and a lot of the newer ones are both better and cheaper. If you’re grinding code every day like I am, finding an option that saves tokens without hurting the work beats clinging to the same expensive model by a mile. This round, the one I jumped to is GLM 5.1 from Zhipu.

  • Claude Code isn’t tied to one model — you can swap the backend.
  • I plugged in GLM 5.1 and my everyday coding tasks run fine.
  • Setup is easy — a tiny bit of config and it’s running.
  • Best part: it’s very cheap, pay-per-use API, only what you actually consume.

Something a lot of people don’t realize: Claude Code isn’t locked to a single model. The tooling and the whole workflow stay exactly the same, but the backend doing the thinking is swappable. So I pointed my config at GLM 5.1 — I open Claude Code and it looks identical, except the one actually doing the work is now GLM. Setup wasn’t complicated either; a small config change and you’re done.

Personally, what I like is that it genuinely works. My day-to-day coding holds up fine — it’s responsive, it follows instructions well, and I rarely feel like I’m trading quality for the lower price. But the thing that fully pulled me over is the cost. Looking at the bill, it’s easy on the wallet — even a full day of work stays cheap. And that just reinforces what I already believed: don’t lock into your old model. When something newer that’s cheaper and still does the job shows up, just switch — you save a ton of tokens.
