เมื่อวานซืนผมได้มีโอกาสไปแชร์เรื่องการทำ literature review โดยใช้ CLI ครับ ตอนแรกเอาจริงๆ คิดในใจว่าคนน่าจะฟังไม่รู้เรื่องแน่ๆ เพราะหลายคนพอเห็นหน้าจอ command line ทีแรกก็จะรู้สึกว่ามันยาก ดูเหมือนของยุค DOS ที่จับต้องยาก
แต่หลังจากได้อ่าน feedback สิ่งที่ผมดีใจมากๆ คือมุมมองของคนในห้องเปลี่ยนไปจริงๆ ครับ ก่อนเริ่มหลายคนบอกว่ารู้สึกว่ามันซับซ้อน ดูล้นๆ บางคนยังนึกภาพไม่ออกเลยว่าจะเอาไปใช้ยังไง แต่พอจบ session คนส่วนใหญ่บอกว่าอยากลองทำดู อยากเรียนรู้ต่อ และเริ่มมองเห็นภาพว่ามันจะเข้ามาเปลี่ยน workflow การทำงานวิจัยของตัวเองได้ยังไง
สิ่งที่ผมได้กลับมาจากการไปแชร์ครั้งนี้คือ เครื่องมือที่เราคิดว่า “ยากเกินไปสำหรับคนทั่วไป” จริงๆ แล้วแค่ต้องการคนพาดูทีละขั้น ว่ามันช่วยงานจริงตรงไหน พอเห็นภาพว่าทำอะไรได้ ความกลัวมันก็หายไปเอง และ CLI ที่หลายคนเคยกลัว ก็กลายเป็นเครื่องมือที่เขาอยากหยิบมาลองครับ
A couple of days ago I got to share how I do literature review using a CLI. Honestly, going in I assumed it would fly right over everyone’s heads — the moment people see a command-line screen, the first reaction is usually that it looks hard, like some hard-to-touch DOS-era tool.
But reading the feedback afterward, what made me happiest was that the room’s perception genuinely shifted. Beforehand, plenty of people said it felt complicated and overwhelming; some couldn’t even picture how they’d use it. By the end of the session, most said they wanted to give it a try, wanted to keep learning, and had started to see how it could change the way they do research.
What I took away from sharing this is that a tool we assume is “too hard for normal people” often just needs someone to walk through it step by step and show where it actually helps. Once people can picture what it does, the fear fades on its own — and the CLI that used to scare them becomes something they actually want to pick up.
